At the fifth Mission Innovation Ministerial meeting members agreed to pursue an ambitious second phase of the initiative. The goal remains to reinvigorate and accelerate public and private global clean energy innovation with the objective to make clean energy widely affordable and available for all sectors of the economy. The second phase of Mission Innovation will build on the successes of the first phase whilst recognising the need to shift our focus toward outcomes that will further accelerate the pace of innovation, and thereby facilitate countries’ clean energy transitions by advancing the solutions and technologies needed to support national goals.
